What a great week! Thank you for making our first week such a success! Just a few reminders: drop off for non-before care students starts at 7:30am, students may not be on campus before 7:30am if not participating in the before care program. Please be aware, starting Monday, August 25th, students will be marked tardy if they are not IN THEIR CLASSROOM at 8am. Thank you again for making the first week a huge success!

Dear Parents,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your continued support for St. Cloud Prep Academy. Sometimes life throws us a curve ball, or in our case, rain, rain, and more rain! As you may be aware, summer weather in Florida can be very unpredictable. As a result, we are faced with the challenge of using an alternate site for no more than 4 weeks. The site we are using is the Canoe Creek Christian Church on Pine Tree Drive in St. Cloud. We are a Leader-in-Me School and as such, we want to assure you that our Board of Director’s, teachers and staff are working diligently to promote the health, safety and happiness of every child during this time of transition. After all, it is not the building that makes the school, rather the people that are in it and support it! As we roll out our plan for making the first few weeks of school a memorable experience for both you and your child(ren) we want to explain some of the ways we will create a safe school atmosphere:

1. Classes will be separated.
2. We will ask for any parent who has the time, effort, and energy, to participate in the smooth transition.
3. All safety precautions will be in place.
4. Open House (August 14th, 3pm-6:15pm)will be held at the site so that parents and students can become familiar with the layout of the facility.
5. All resources that are needed for educational purposes will be provided.
6. Staff will be on-site to provide child care/activities for before and after school.
7. Lunch will be provided for all students the first week of school.

What is a Charter School?

Charter schools are tuition-free public schools of choice, but each charter school is governed independently by 501c3 non-profit organizations. They are typically funded at 80% of what traditional public schools receive. Many charter schools function very efficiently on a “less is more” philosophy. Charter schools typically focus on their own mix of proven academic strategies that best reach their student base. Charter schools also have their own mix of academic philosophies of what students they can serve best via academic remediation, high intellect, Socratic, Basic School, college preparation and STEM approaches to name just a few academic approaches. Unlike traditional public schools, every charter school must demonstrate success, or it will lose its charter.

Charter Schools are NOT subject to redistricting, EVER. Any resident in Osceola County regardless of assigned school district can apply and attend if selected through the lottery. No other conditions for attendance are required.
